Howdy Everyone,
There's plenty of snow despite the mild temps. 100% coverage with an average depth of over 3 feet thick. It looks like we'll be making more snow as the temperatures drop this weekend.
Enjoy our snow everybody...freshly groomed, every day!
Steve Turk
Howdy Everyone,
Even with the mild temps, we still have 100% snow coverage with an average depth of over 3 feet thick! The forecast looks good for more snow making temperatures Sunday night, so we'll continue to make snow.

Howdy Everyone,
It's going to be a GREAT holiday weekend! Temperatures will be great for both skiing and snow tubing.
Looking ahead, we should have some frigid temperatures coming in next week for some great snow making!
Best Regards To All!
Steve Turk
Howdy Everyone,
IT'S OFFICIAL! We now have our Never Ever Area and a second tube rune lane OPEN.
Presently, the temperatures remain too high for us to make snow, but as long as it doesn't get too warm, we are looking good!
Best Regards To All!
Steve Turk
Howdy Everyone,
Boy did we make snow last night! The Snow Guns produced 3 nice size snow whales. Check them out before Anthony starts grooming.
We will have an average snow base of 3 ½ feet, reaching as deep as 5 feet in some areas!
This weekend, not only will Big Hill Ski Run be open, our Never Ever area will be open for the first time this season. We may even have enough snow to build an extra tube run!
Enjoy our Snow!
Steve Turk
Temperatures are giving us an excellent opportunity to make snow for a 48 hour stretch. Our Snow Team is right on it—creating a base depth over 2 feet thick in some areas!
Hope Everyone Had a Wonderful New Year!
Steve Turk
Last night the temperatures reached 20 degrees, allowing us to make lots of fresh snow! Tonight we'll be grooming our "Never Ever" hill, a great place for first timers to learn to ski.
Happy New Year Everyone!
Steve Turk
Lots of snow for both Big Hill Ski Run and the snow tube run!
The moment the temperatures hit their mark, we'll be blowing plenty of new snow!
Happy Holidays,
Steve Turk
The Big Hill Ski Run and snow tubing are open as promised!
Our snow team made good snow last night. Great job Mark, Veni, John and Anthony.
Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas Everyone!
Steve Turk
Conditions are looking great tonight for snow making!
Big Hill will be pretty busy tomorrow with skiing and snow tubing all day, plus snow tubing at night.
It's going to be a white Christmas at Rocking Horse!
Happy Holidays,
Steve Turk
Even though it felt like an early Spring ski day, we still had skiing!
The 3-day-outlook does not look favorable to make more snow, but we managed to make a 3-foot base last week. We should have plenty throughout the weekend.
Fingers crossed for Jack Frost to make an appearance.
Happy Holidays,
Steve Turk
The snow making team did an excellent job last night. The temperatures were in the mid-teens. Veni and Sal created 2 huge snow whales that will give us a great base at the mid and lower levels.
Today we will be grooming the Big Hill Ski Run for skiing starting Tuesday December 20...that's right, tomorrow we will have skiing!
We will still be making snow as the temperatures allow.
Enjoy Our Snow! Best to Everyone,
Steve Turk
The Snow Tube Run is open and operating 3 full days now.
Last night was a successful snow making operation. Our team of Ernie, Veni and Sal had good temperatures, reaching as low as 18 degrees by 5AM. We are starting to make gains in our coverage of the "Big Hill" ski run. Our goal is to have Big Hill at least partially open for skiing by midweek (fingers crossed!)
The Weather Channel's forecast looks promising for this evening as well.
Best to Everyone,
Steve Turk
Snow Tubing is now OPEN!
Tonight looks very good to continue our snow making operations. The Weather Channel is calling for temperatures into the low 20's. The machines should be running this evening.
Thanks Everyone and Happy Holidays!
Steve Turk
Tonight's forecast is still calling for mild weather. Our snow team is ready to go the moment the temperature falls below 28 degrees. On a positive note, there is enough snow for us to have snow tubing! The run will be open. You can see Anthony on the snow cam building the run with our snow cat.
Of course, all of our other activities at Rocking Horse are open. Remember, with over 100 horses, we are America's largest Guest Ranch!
Happy Holidays Everyone!
Steve Turk
Last night the temperature rose above 28 degrees. Our Snow Team of Ernie, Dave and Veni were unable to continue snow making operations. Starting this weekend, our Snow Tubing facility will be open. According to the weather forecast, we will continue snow making operations on Friday.
Thank You Everyone For Your Patience,
Steve Turk
Last night, our snow making team had success with temperatures reaching as low as 19 degrees! The tubing hill is almost covered. We've even created the season's first "snow whale."
Tonight, the temperatures are not supposed to be as favorable, but we are committed! Keep checking the snow cam to see the Winter Fun Park's snow making progress.
Well, Mother Nature is not being too kind. Not cold enough to run our Snow Guns throughout the day, but managed to get a few feet made at the Snow Tube run. We'll be at it again as soon as temperatures fall below 28 degrees tonight!
We've started! Temperatures are a little warmer than we would like, but we'll do our best on the first night of shooting. Hopefully we'll get some of the tube run covered by morning. Check back soon.
